Kyushu University Information
Kyushu university (九州大学 or Kyūshū Daigaku) is one of Japans most prestigious public universities and is located in Fukuoka City on the Kyushu island. The Kyushu university ranking is number 7 in Japan, and 194th in the world. Similarly rated colleges in Japan include Tohoku University, Tsukuba University, Nagoya University, and Hokkaido University.
The university has 11 schools for undergraduate study, the fields of study at Kyushu are: Agriculture; Dentistry; Design; Economics; Education; Engineering; Law; Letters; Medicine; Pharmaceutical Sciences; and Sciences. In addition the university also has a program called the 21st Century Program available at undergraduate level.
At the graduate level Kyushu university offers a much larger field of study, in addition to fields mentioned above graduate study is available in areas such as Humanities, Mathematics, Bio resource and Bio environmental Sciences, and Social and Cultural Studies across 16 different faculties. Kyushu university even has a graduate school of law that only teaches in English.
As can be expected from such a prestigious institution Kyushu university has many famous faculty and alumni associated with it, these include Inada Ryukichi, Ohmori Harutoyo, Koichi Wakata, Shimao Toshio and Hashimoto Hakaru.
The Kyushu university ranking is number 13 in Asia in the University Review List. Similarly ranked colleges include Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
