Although established in its present form in 1949 the University of New South Wales can trace its roots back as far as 1843. The University of New South Wales ranking is number 7 in Australia, and 158th best in the world. The university is situated in a suburban setting in Kensington in the Australian city of Sydney. Today the university is presided over by its Chancellor David Gonski, and offers around 600 programs of study.
