Polytechnic University of Valencia Information
The Polytechnic University of Valencia (Universitat Politècnica de València) is a Spanish university that is located in Valencia. It is more oft referred to under the local names of Universitat Politècnica de València, Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, IPA or UPV.
It was established in 1968 as the Higher Polytechnic School of Valencia and in 1971, it became a university.
Other Spanish college and universities include the University of Barcelona, Autonomous University of Madrid, Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Valencia, Complutense University of Madrid, University of Zaragoza, University of Granada and University of Seville.
The Polytechnic University of Valencia is composed of four campuses namely: Alcoi, Blasco Ibañez, Camí de Vera and Gandia; and 14 schools and faculties specifically: Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Business Administration and Management, Higher Polytechnic School of Alcoy, School of Architecture, School of Industrial Engineering, School of Building Management, School of Civil Engineering, School of Agricultural Engineering, School of Engineering in Geodesy, School of Design Engineering, School of Telecommunications Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Rural Environments and Enology and School of Cartography and Surveying.
The Polytechnic University of Valencia offers 48 bachelor and master degrees and 81 doctoral degrees.
Santiago Calatrava, a Spanish architect, sculptor and structural engineer whose principal office is in Zürich, Switzerland is one of the university’s renowned alumni. He is now classed amongst the elite designers of the world.
