Seoul National University Information
The Seoul national university was founded as the first national university of Korea in 1946.
The university is split into two major campuses, the main one being Gwanak, whilst the second one (Yeongeon) is located in Jongno; the latter campus is dedicated to the medical field. the university has an excellent library that carries more than 2.6 million volumes.
The Seoul National University ranking is number 7 in Asia in the University Review List. Similarly ranked colleges include Tohoku University, Hokkaido University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and NUS. Other respected South Korean universities include KAIST, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Yonsei University, Korea University, Sungkyunkwan University and Kyungpook National University.
The university has 16 colleges that are dedicated to undergraduate research, these colleges are dedicated to the following key subject areas: Agriculture and Life Sciences; Business Administration; Dentistry; Education; Engineering; Fine Arts; Human Ecology; Humanities; Law; Medicine; Music; Natural Sciences; Nursing; Pharmacy; Social Sciences; and Veterinary Medicine. The graduate choices at Seoul are also extensive with both general and professional programs available for study.
Some of the famous faculty and alumni of the Seoul National University include Lee Jong-wook, Kim Seung-ok, Park Wan-Seo, Yi Sang, Kim Young-sam, Ban Ki-moon and Han Seung Soo.
