About University College London
University College London (UCL) is located in the capital of England, and was founded in 1826, having been proposed by Jeremy Bentham. It is spread out across London but is mainly located in the Bloomsbury area. The University College London ranking is number 6 in the University Review List of top UK universities. Similarly ranked colleges include Lancaster, Durham, Warwick, and St Andrews.
There are around 12000 undergraduate students and approximately 10,000 postgraduate scholars, in addition to the 8000 staff and faculty. The university has an endowment of 105 million pounds sterling. The provest is Malcolom Grant. The libraries of UCL hold many rare books including those by Newton. It is a member of the Russell group.
The University College London Libraries are housed in several different parts of the university withy the main library appropriately enough being housed in the ‘University College London Main Building’. The next largest UCL library is the one dedicated to the sciences.
