University of Guelph Information
The University of Guelph (U of G) is located in the city of the same name in the Canadian provence of Ontario. The University of Guelph ranking is 15th best school in Canada, and 239th in the world. Similarly rated Canadian colleges include University of Manitoba, Simon Fraser University, Carleton University, and Dalhousie University.
Although established in 1964 the university can trace its roots back to 1874 when the Ontario Agricultural college was established; at this time the college was associated with the university of Toronto.
Today the university has grown to cover an area of over a thousand acres and caters for around 20,000 students. The university is currently guided by chancellor Pamela Wallin.
The University of Guelph offers study of 90 different degree programs from seven different colleges dedicated to the following general topic areas:
Agriculture; Arts; Biology; Management and Economics; Physical and Engineering Science; Social and Applied Human Science; and Veterinary medicine.
Guelph university also prides itself on its distance learning program and offers over sixty courses for people who wish to study off campus.
