Montpellier 2 University Information
Although only in existence since 1970 the Montpellier 2 University can trace its roots back to the early eighteenth century.
The university in its present form was founded by the splitting of the University of Montpellier into three; the original universities science department was formed in 1706. The Montpellier 2 University ranking is joint 9th in France, and 239th in the world. Similarly rated French colleges include Paul Sabatier University, Paris Dauphine University, Henri Poincaré University, and École Polytechnique.
Nowadays Montpellier 2 University is overseen by its president Jean-Louis Cuq and caters to over thirteen thousand students.
Study occurs in four different campuses, other than locations in Montpellier itself, University campuses are located in Sète, Nîmes and Béziers.
