Situated in the German city of the same name the University of Marburg (Philipps-Universität Marburg) was established in the early 16th century making it one of the earliest universities in Europe. Today the university has expanded to include a broad range of courses and is headed by its president Volker Nienhaus. The University of Marburg ranking is joint 15th best university in Germany, and 365th to 390th in the world.
