Hiroshima University Information
Although Hiroshima University (広島大学 – Hiroshima Daigaku) was officially created by a merger of institutes following the second world war it can trace its roots back to 1929. The Hiroshima University ranking is number 12 in Japan, and in the 316 to 324 range in the world. Similarly rated colleges in Japan include Keio University, Waseda University, Kobe University, and Chiba University.
The university is located in two Japanese cities Hiroshima (from which it gets its name) and Higashihiroshima. Today the university caters for around 15,000 students of which about a third are carrying out studies at post graduate level.
