University of Bochum Information
The University of Bochum (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) is located in the Ruhr valley region of Germany in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW); this German state also has many other respected universities such as the ones at Bonn and the university of Cologne. The University of Bochum ranking is the joint 15thbest university in Germany, and the 230th in the world. Similarly rated German colleges include RWTH Aachen University, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, University of Düsseldorf, and Technische Universität Berlin.
Bochum is a large university and caters for over 33,000 students and another 5,000 staff. It is a new Germany by German standards, having been established in the early nineteen sixties. Today the Ruhr university of Bochum is headed by the rector Professor Elmar Weiler.
The Ruhr University Bochum has twenty different faculties, these are dedicated to the teaching of the following major subject areas:

In all the University of Bochum offers study of around 150 degree and masters programs; unlike many other German universities Bochum grants degrees as opposed to the traditional German diplomas.
