About the University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburgh is located in the capital of Scotland in the UK and was founded in 1583 as a public institution having been proposed by Bishop Robert Reid.
It is situated in an urban campus in Edinburgh.
There are around 18300 undergraduate students and approximately 5700 postgraduate scholars, in addition to the 3900 staff and faculty at the Edinburgh university.
The University of Edinburgh ranking number 15 in the University Review List of top UK universities. Similarly ranked colleges include Bristol, York, Glasgow, and the Imperial College London.
